Please add the following to your terms and vocabulary page in your notes:
  • Protagonist: the main character in a narrative (originally, the main character in a Greek tragedy)
  • Antagonist: character, force (such as nature), or other obstacle opposing the goal of the main character
  • Dynamic Character: a character who changes during the narrative
  • Static Character: a character who remains essentially the same during a narrative
  • Flat Character: a character whose makeup is clear and simple, with usually one one major personality trait (loyalty or malice or worry or confidence).
  • Round Character: a character whose makeup is more complex, exhibiting a wider range of personality traits (for instance, this character may openly show confidence but privately battle doubt, etc.).
